Our Business
Golden Reef Mining (GRM) is a minerals exploration and mining compnay which is domiciled in Zimbabwe.
Established and incorporated in 2007, we operate a diversified mineral portfolio strategically located in three of the southern African country’s 10 provinces, namely Mashonaland Central, Masvingo and the Midlands.
Our formation was motivated by the desire to unlock value from Zimbabwe’s vast mineral wealth, create employment for particularly the youths, and sustainably contribute to the growth of the country’s economy.
We seek to leverage on partnerships, skills and technology transfer to achieve the targets that we have set for ourselves.
In the foreseeable future, our vocation is that of ensuring that our assets operate at full capacity, while releasing resources towards the development of Greenfield projects with immense potential for growth. This is a precursor towards our vaunted desire to turn the business into a pan-African mining company, with Zimbabwean roots.

Conflict between mining and nature only occurs when one of the two arms abdicates on its responsibility towards the other. Our philosophy is therefore based on reciprocity whereby we show our gratitude for the abundant God-given resources around us by rehabilitating the environment through tree-planting initiatives and land reclamation.

Golden Reef Mining is deeply committed to sustainable mining and acknowledges climate change as a defining global challenge affecting our business, employees, and host communities. While gold mining has one of the lowest carbon intensities per unit value among minerals, we recognise our operations have a significant environmental impact. Our primary emissions come from diesel use in haulage and electricity consumption during mining and processing. In response, we’ve implemented strategic policy interventions and operational adjustments aimed at reducing our carbon footprint. We’ve also updated key environmental policies covering carbon and energy management, water use, tailings, mine closure, and climate change to ensure responsible stewardship across all our projects.
Ethics and Compliance Programme
Our Board, together with its Committees, Management and Staff did a thorough assessments of both internal and external risks that could confront the business as an antidote for crafting operational standards and manuals that insulate the company against these risks.
These well-thought-out policies are reviewed continuously to plug any gaps that may arise as a result of the ever-changing operating environment. We thus operate, strictly, in accordance with the highest corporate ethics, standards and guidelines and in line with the existing statutes in order to guarantee the sustainability of our business. These standards and guidelines meet international best practices and are based on globally acceptable norms.

Our sustainability strategies extend to impacts of supply chains, while also integrating sustainable development goals because of the large environmental and social footprint that mining operations have.
